Save the Sales Tax!

California has a wonderful sales tax regulation written to help the Gold, Silver and Coin investor.  

Regulation #1599 covers coins and bullion.  Basically any combination of Gold, Silver and coins with a combined value of $2000.00 or greater is California Sales Tax exempt.

What’s Available in Gold?
Gold is the most sought after and is available in many different varieties.  Here in the US,  the American Gold Eagle is very popular.  They are made by the US Mint and have a monetized value  of  Twenty US dollars.  Although they are 22K, (91.6%) they do weigh 1 troy ounce.  Gold Eagles are available Certified by a 3 party for authenticity and grade, are available in US Mint packaging, and are available loose either in tubes or plastic sleeves.  A number of varieties exist too, including 1/2 ounce, 1/4 oz, and 10th ounce.  Proof varieties are also available.

Also made by the US mint is the American Buffalo.  The big difference is the Gold content,  The American Buffalo 
contains 1 troy ounce of 24K Gold or 100% Gold.   Buffalos have a monetized value of Fifty US Dollars, and are available Certified by a 3 party for authenticity and grade, are available in US Mint packaging, and are available loose either in tubes or plastic sleeves.

Minted by the Canadian government is the Maple Leaf.  Like the US Buffalo, the Maple Leaf contains 1 troy ounce of 24K (100%) Gold.

Minted by the South African government is the Krugerrand.  Each 1 troy ounce is 22K Gold (91.6%).  We do get Proof Krugerrands from time to time.

Minted by the Austrian government is the Philharmonic.  Like the Buffalo and Maple Leaf, the Philharmonic is

1 troy ounce of 24K (100%) Gold.

What’s Available in Silver?

Silver Bullion is the second most sought after precious metal available for investing.  1 troy ounce of .999 fine Silver is the industry standard for Silver.  Like Gold, Silver too has many Varieties.  The American Silver Eagle (ASE) is very popular for is beautiful design but inexpensive entry point.  Minted by the US Government American Silver Eagles have a monetized value of One US Dollar.  American Silver Eagles can be purchased in any quanity desired.  Some common ways people buy American Silver Eagles is in the 500 coin (500 Troy Ounces) Sealed US Mint Monster Boxes, Tubes of 20 Silver Eagles, or as Individual coins.  All American Silver Eagles we sell are 1 Troy ounce of .999 Silver.   We do carry complete Album year sets of American Silver Eagles 1986-2015, 20 coin year roll sets, NGC Certified American Silver Eagles, and US Mint packaged PROOF American Silver Eagles.  

Less popular but also available are 1 ounce Silver Maple Leafs and 1 ounce Silver Philharmonics.

For those looking to invest in Silver and don’t really have a preference, we offer privately minted 1 ounce Silver  Rounds.  These are the most economical, and come in many different designs.

Silver Coins

Another great way to invest in Silver is with 90% US coins.  These are specifically 1964 and prior Half Dollars, Quarters and Dimes.  We typically sell them loose in bags.  A full “Bag” of US 90% Silver coins is $1000.00 face value, while a “Half Bag” of 90% Silver coins is $500.00 face value.  The great thing about 90% Silver US coins is they can be bought really in any quantity desired, and any denomination desired too.
